The artist from my country, China




Mr. Ding Shaoguang, born in 1939, Shanxi Yuncheng city person. 1962 Graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Teaching at the Yunnan Art Institute. 1979 created murals for the Great Hall of the "beautiful, rich, magical Xishuangbanna," published the same year, "Ting Shao Kuang Xishuangbanna line drawing sketch set." July 1980 to settle in the United States. 1990 Art Expo in Japan in the world, selected from the 14 century's most distinguished artists, ranked 29th, is the only Ranking of Chinese artists. March 1992, in Hong Kong, China Jia Shi was the 19th and 20th century Chinese painting at auction, works of "White Nights" sold to 2.2 million Hong Kong dollars, setting a living Chinese artist at work the record. In April, his prints screen printing exhibition held at the Revolutionary Museum in Beijing's Tiananmen Square, becoming the only foreign-Chinese living artist so honored. Was elected in 1993, the United Nations "of contemporary artists," created "the light of human rights" to mark the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In 1994 the United Nations use of his work, "Mother" India for the commemorative first day covers and limited edition prints in the global issue to mark the International Year of the Family. Three consecutive years, the United Nations 166 countries around the world the author describes Ting Shao Kuang art and life, art and philatelic items in the Final Report of the United Nations set up the nomination in recognition of 50 years, 29 contemporary artists, Ting Shao Kuang is one of the only Asian artists.

MCA reflection





We went to MCA museum last week. That is a nice and huge building build on Chicago street. It is a contemporary art museum. We had see many interesting things over there, such as painting, architecture and photography. Many art works were after 1960. The most memorable for me is IAIN BAXTER . Artist is Emissions, this art work is about animals. The artist put animal specimens for people to enjoy. It was very interesting. Many art works from this museum I see were just from our life. Also they sold many interesting small gift at gift shop. It is a nice and interesting place for visit. I will go back again in the future!

AIC Ⅱ Reflection



Last Wednesday we went to AIC Museum again. This time we had see some different art at there. This time was more interesting. We went to basement first. It was some small windows over there. Also We had learn Asian culture, such as Chinese, Japanese, and India culture and art work. That was interesting. I saw some art work are already thousand years old. I could imagine the people were really smart. That was a fun trip and I bought a Post card for my classmate. That was a nice experience.

Surviving Picasso




The movie I watched is Surviving Picasso. Picasso was a great painter. The movie talks about Picasso's life. The most big part was about his lovers. In the movie, there were seven women have relationship with him, but he never got married with anyone. This movie was talks about he loved with a girl who'name was Françoise. The girl only twenty three years old, but Picasso was sixty seven. They were fall in love, also he got one boy and one girl with her.They were together ten years, than Françoise left him. Picasso start his new life when he already seventy four years old.
